General documents - Joint Statement on the anniversary of the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine - Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee

The Bureau of the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee: Chair MEP Witold Jan WASZCZYKOWSKI, Vice Chairs Viola VON CRAMON-TAUBADEL and Traian BĂSESCU, the Chair of the Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly (PA), MEP Andrius KUBILIUS and the European Parliament's Standing Rapporteur on Ukraine, MEP Michael GAHLER, released the Joint Statement on the anniversary of the beginning of the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.

This week we mark the seven years anniversary of the events that led to the illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation.

We reiterate our unwavering commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders, and condemn this violation of international law. The illegal occupation remains a direct challenge to international security, with grave implications for the international legal order that protects the territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty of states. We will continue supporting the internationally coordinated sanctioning of the Russian authorities for undermining Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.[...]
